Learning objectives

What will you explore?

  • Explain how IPL broadband light differs from a laser source.
  • Describe the purpose of filters and identify the selected equipment configuration.
  • Relate the client's concern to a documented suitability assessment and treatment objective.
  • Prepare clear information, photographic records and a follow-up process.

Programme overview

Connect knowledge and practice.

01

Broadband light and skin targets

Review the principles of light interaction with the skin and the relevance of different targets. Distinguish an IPL spectrum from a laser wavelength. Explore why the intended application, skin characteristics and equipment configuration must be considered together when assessing a service.

02

Spectra Amplica configurations

Examine interchangeable filters, the contact handpiece and the information that identifies a specific Spectra Amplica model. Distinguish the standard broadband light configuration from the version with a separate NIR handpiece. Course enquiries can focus on the equipment your clinic actually uses.

03

Consultation before selection

Structure the history, skin observations and discussion of client expectations before considering a light-based procedure. Review previous treatments, reasons for postponement and situations requiring further assessment. Address cosmetic concerns within the practitioner's role and avoid using an aesthetic consultation as a medical diagnosis.

04

From objective to documented plan

Explore the relationship between filter choice, pulse characteristics, cooling and treatment coverage without relying on a universal setting. Review protective arrangements, consent, preparation and device-specific assessment procedures. Practical content depends on the prerequisites and scope confirmed for the participant.

05

Photographs, aftercare and review

Plan consistent image capture and notes so changes can be assessed meaningfully. Develop clear aftercare explanations and a route for reporting concerns. Use case discussions to consider when observations support continuing, changing or referring a plan for further assessment.

Who is this training for?

  • Practitioners with relevant skin or light-based treatment experience.
  • Clinic teams considering Spectra Amplica or reviewing an existing IPL workflow.

Before you register.

  • Include your current qualifications, light-based treatment experience and exact Spectra configuration. The Academy reviews entry requirements and the proposed scope before confirming participation.
  • A course enquiry may cover one application or a tailored selection. It does not imply that every listed device application is appropriate for every participant.
